Jeff Bezos explains to Charlie Rose why amazon.com is creating 20 million stores, and what it means to have a mission of being "Earth's most customer-centric company."
Jeff explains in this video how 'customer-centric' means three things at amazon.com:
1) Listen: "Companies that don't listen to customers fail."
2) Invent: "Because companies that only listen to customers fail."
3) Personalize: "Take every individual customer and put them at the center of their own universe."
Amazon.com's share price has increased by over 50% in the last year, making it - at $400 billion in value - worth more than Macy's, Kohl's, Sears, JCPenney, Nordstrom, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Dillard's , Gap and Target combined.
It is now one of the top five most valuable companies in the US. The other five (Apple, Google, Microsoft and Facebook) also "Take every individual customer and put them at the center of their own universe."
Are you doing the same?
"Don't find customers for your products. Find products for your customers." ~ Seth Godin
